Overview
This engaging NHS & Social Care-specific module will provide an overview of the benefits and legal requirements
of adopting the Caldicott principles of dealing with patient-identifiable information in the workplace.
Having completed the course learners will be able to explain why it is important to an organisation, describe
the main areas of legislation and regulation, explain what needs to be done and be in a position to promote best
practice within your organisation.
Structure
The module is structured into a number of engaging learning activities which guide the learner through each topic.
It is supported by graphics, animations and a range of knowledge challenges which not only help with the retention
of information but which are constantly reinforcing key messages.
Once the learning element of the module has been completed the learner will be directed to the quiz section where
his/her understanding will be put to the test.
Target audience
This course is targeted at all employees within NHS and social care organisations. It is also appropriate
to all Public sector bodies including Education, Council, Police, Fire & Government.
Online assessment
Online assessment can be provided through the use of the Virtual College's TMS, which offers a
complete online assessment linked to an individual's training record.
Accreditation
This course is not formally accredited at the moment, but it was developed in partnership with subject
matter experts in the NHS. We are currently exploring the potential for gaining accreditation for the
Information Governance modules.
Cost
£30.00 ex vat (£34.50 inc. VAT at 15%) for a single user. A cost reduction will be offered for multiple users within a business (POA). Email: info@virtual-college.co.uk
